Biographical note:
Tommaso Durante is a visual artist and freelance lecturer in History and Theory of Art. He was born in Italy.
Tommaso used to show internationally and travel around Europe and Americas before moving to Australia in 2001 -
under a Visa as Distinguished Talent for Art.

His artistic production is focused on the edge of art and philosophy and connects digital technology to traditional media
in the aim to explore the boundaries between abstraction and materialism.

Durante tries to translate the imitation of ideas by transposing them into other ideas: sculpture-installations, paintings and artist books. He also works around a definition of art as characterized by complex linguistic themes and resolutions, crossing the fields of art, craft and design.
Durante’s bookworks are part of prestigious public and private collections and they have regularly been exhibited in solo and group shows worldwide.
